The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday endorsed the foundation of six private universities, incorporating a naval university in Delta.
The Minister of Education, Adamu, declared this while briefing the State House press corps toward the finish of the FEC meeting managed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
According to him, the endorsements are a consequence of the reminder submitted to the FEC by the Ministry.
He said the universities were Admiralty University in Ibusa, Delta state, claimed by the Naval Holding Organization; Spiritan University in Nneochi, Abia State; and Precious Cornerstone University in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Likewise endorsed are PAMO University of Medicinal Sciences, Port Harcourt, Rivers State; Atibe University in Oyo town, Oyo State; and Eko University of Medical and Health Sciences, Lagos.
Adamu said more applications were gotten by the Ministry and will later be exhibited to the Council for endorsement.
The minister said that the FEC has coordinated the National Universities Commission (NUC) to investigate the nature of courses offered by new and existing universities in the nation.
According to him, the administration will pull back the enlistment of any university that neglects to met the standard set for courses being offered.
